a while ago i was looking at the news and i saw this article on bbc and cnn about a controversial punishment to be carried out in iran. an obsessive stalker blinded a woman when she refused to marry him. now this woman, who was blinded by the attack is having the man blinded as punishment. the government offered the woman to have the man imprisoned and/or have the man pay for her suffering but she has insisted that he suffer as she has.
i think this article will be very interesting to discuss when we talk about freedom of fear/harsh punishment.
